What is the role?

As a Senior Applied AI Engineer in our AI team, you will play a pivotal role in creating advanced NLP and AI solutions designed to provide city leaders with deeper insights into their communities. You will be responsible for developing, integrating, and deploying AI models, including off-the-shelf technologies, LLM models and open source tools, with a focus on optimizing performance, user value and scalability. Your work will span various engineering aspects including data integration, algorithm development, evaluation and real-world AI model deployment.

Day2Day

• - Develop, implement, and deploy advanced AI and machine learning models.
• - Collaborate with the Analytics and Applied AI team to design innovative AI solutions.
• - Managing multiple AI & ML workloads in production.
• - Work multiple stakeholders in the engineering and the product departments to create integrated AI-powered features.
• - Build and manage data pipelines to support machine learning workflows.
• - Optimize AI models for performance and scalability, including hyperparameter tuning and runtime of improvements.
• - Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to other engineers.
• - Engage in architectural decisions and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
• - Stay current with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning technologies and integrate them into the team's workflow.
  
  

• Great interpersonal skills
• Proven experience with modern AI and LLMs tools and infrastructure from building to proudction deployment
• At least 3 years experience with Python Data Science and Machine Learning ecosystem
• Solid understanding of cloud services, in particular in the AWS environment
• Familiarity with Data platform tools like Databricks, airflow and spark
• Familiarity with containers and K8s
• Experience with Agile development process and automated testing
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment
  
  

• Designed and built a POC or product/service from the ground up, or architected a product/service in your current or previous roles
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• - Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the developer community.
