Assistant Controller

We are looking for an Assistant Controller for one of our main subsidiaries located in Atlanta GA. The Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting most day-to-day accounting activities, reviewing accounting information for accuracy, assisting in preparing financial statements, and helping formulate internal controls and policies. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller, the project team, and FP&A.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the accounting department (month/year-end process, general ledger, reconciliations, activity, debt activity).
• Monitor and analyze accounting data; produce financial reports/statements.
• Prepare/review accruals at period end with supporting documentation.
• Post daily cash receipts and bank entries.
• Involvement in SOX Implementation and ownership on financial and accounting controls.
• Direct monthly general ledger close process and maintain a checklist.
• Assist in financial statement preparation per guidelines of the group.
• Prepare sales tax and property tax returns.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA certification - a Must
• Experience with general ledger and ERP systems (Deltek/Cost Point preferred) – advantage.
• Knowledge of project accounting in manufacturing environments.
• Experience with public companies and SOX processes – advantage.
• Strong Excel technical skills.
• Multi-tasking and initiative-driven approach
• Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, and regulations.
• Ability to handle large amounts of data with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Readiness to tackle all aspects of the job, including routine tasks.
• US citizenship - a Must
