Vice President of Platform Engineering

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Platform Engineering to lead our engineering team in developing and maintaining our cutting-edge B2B SaaS platform.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, development management, DevOps, and infrastructure. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the highest levels of performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

• Develop and execute the overall platform engineering strategy to support the company's business goals.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other executive team members to align engineering efforts with business objectives and customer needs.

B2B SaaS Platform Development:

• Oversee the development and enhancement of our B2B SaaS platform, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality, scalability, and security.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).

Data Management:

• Implement robust data management strategies to ensure data integrity, availability, and security.
• Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making and optimize platform performance.

Development Management:

• Manage the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

DevOps and Infrastructure:

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the platform's infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.
• Implement and manage DevOps practices to streamline development and operations, reduce downtime, and improve system reliability.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes, tools, and practices to enhance productivity and quality.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with product management, sales, and customer support teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Communicate engineering plans, progress, and challenges to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and managing B2B SaaS platforms.
• Strong background in data management, development management, DevOps, and infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
• Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and manage change in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and API development.
