Director of Software

A leading company in the Automotive field that develops sensors, radars, and advanced testing equipment for autonomous entities (vehicles, robots, drones).

The role involves leading a group of approximately 10 employees, including managing team leaders. Leadership across several software domains: DSP, Application, and Core.

Reporting to the R&D manager, working alongside group leaders in the company and executive members.

Located in Tel Aviv, near a train line, with the option to work from home one to two days a week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the Software Engineering group all the way from build, train, and scale high performing development teams to high-quality software delivery and production including automotive safety
• Work with Management and key stakeholders to ensure all deliverables meets high standards, deadlines, accomplish business goals, and develop best practices and technical processes
• Generate the group objectives, goals and processes and execute the plan in complex software cycles
• Manage experienced engineers and mentor new engineers, provide learning opportunities for all team members
• Lead and participate in design reviews
• Identify key areas of risks and recommend software and system solutions
• Identifying team gaps, filling them through recruiting, hiring, and training
• Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional teams, partnering across the company

Requirements:

• 10 years of experience, in Software Engineering
• 4 years of experience in Software management
• Experience with Embedded software and DSP programming
• Leadership skills with ability to motivate teams
• Experience managing aspects of cross-teams plans and interfaces
• A strong sense of accountability and quality
• Experience leading successful releases in a dynamic environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication capabilities
• Well organized and methodical
• Experience with managing team leaders
• Managing offshore subcontracted SW teams
• Experience with agile development processes
