New Product Introduction Engineer

About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both mechanical and electrical engineering within a multidisciplinary company. This role involves extensive use of SolidWorks and PDM for drafting and modeling, as well as a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Create detailed technical drawings and models for manufacturing and assembly.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and product quality.
• Design and test jigs and fixtures to support manufacturing and assembly operations.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM & DFA) principles to optimize product designs.
• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot real-time issues in the manufacturing process.
• Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Plan and execute experiments to validate design concepts and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Document and write technical reports on design and process improvements.
• Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of quality components.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Experience in a multidisciplinary company, with a strong emphasis on both mechanical and electrical engineering
• Proven expertise with SolidWorks and PDM, including drafting and modeling
• Background in manufacturing engineering
• Thorough understanding and familiarity with manufacturing processes
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment
• Proven experience in a multi-interface work setting
• Proficient in designing jigs and fixtures
• In-depth knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM & DFA)
• Strong understanding of assembly processes and product testing
• Exceptional problem-solving skills for real-time issue resolution
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing data
• Experience in planning and executing experiments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Familiarity with the metals industry
• Strong documentation and technical writing skills
• Knowledge of configuration management
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
• Expertise in quality standards and quality control
• Experience collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors
