The Laboratory for Autonomous Robotics (LAR), led by Prof. Hugo Guterman, is developing autonomous robotic systems for air, sea, and land. The lab's multidisciplinary team includes students from various fields such as electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, physics, and more. The lab provides students interested in robotics and automation with valuable experience to integrate into the forefront of industry.

Mechanical Design Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated graduate with a Bachelor's degree in engineering, self-learning abilities, and a passion for robotics interested in participating in the development of autonomous marine systems. The role involves mechanical design including analytical calculations and simulations. As part of the development team for complex systems encompassing mechanics, electronics, and software, you will also be involved in manufacturing support, assembly, integration, and laboratory/field testing, including sea operations.

Role Requirements:

• Full-time availability.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar knowledge.

• Minimum one year of experience.

• Ability to work at sea for a week - mandatory.

• Experience with Solidworks - mandatory.

• Experience in manufacturing drawings - mandatory.

• Experience in manufacturing technologies - an advantage.

• Experience in soldering/electronic integration - an advantage.

• Practical experience in chip processing - an advantage.

• Familiarity with heat transfer and dissipation topics - an advantage.

• Experience with ANSYS - FLUENT flow simulations - an advantage.
