Director of R&D for an AI-Powered Computer Vision Medical Device startup

As the R&D Director, you will be at the helm of the technology development, overseeing the technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with the company's business goals. You will lead a small but talented team of engineers and technical experts, guiding them in the creation of pioneering AI-driven medical devices. Your leadership will be crucial in propelling the company forward in the competitive medtech landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the company’s technical strategy in line with business goals, focusing on AI, deep learning, and machine learning applications in medical devices.

Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of up to 5 engineers and technical professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Project Oversight: Oversee all stages of product development, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Innovation and R&D: Drive research and development efforts to continually enhance our product offerings, staying ahead of industry trends and advancements.

Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including product, production, clinical and regulatory, to ensure cohesive strategy and execution.

Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to the team, leveraging your management expertise covering AI, deep learning, and machine learning.

Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest level of quality and safety.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 2 years in a technical leadership role, managing small teams (up to 5 members) in a startup or dynamic environment.

Background in AI, deep learning, and machine learning, with a focus on applications in medical devices or healthcare technology.

Experience in Computer Vision - Significant advantage

Proven ability to lead and inspire a technical team, with excellent project management and organizational skills.

Innovative thinker with a passion for solving complex out of the box problems and driving technological advancements.
