Role Description

Responsibilities: Implementation of Variety Production Plans (Stages S1 and S2)

• Production Planning: Collaborate with the product manager to receive and implement production plans, including preparing seeds for sowing and shipping. This involves collecting seeds from the warehouse, packaging, labeling, and final preparations.
• Information Systems Management: Utilize company information systems, Phenom and Priority, to manage production plans.
• Sowing and Planting: Execute sowing plans, prepare maps and signage, and manage the planting process.
• Grower Support: Provide ongoing support to growers throughout the season, including quality control, plot approvals, and seed production monitoring.
• Harvest Coordination: Coordinate with growers for picking, prepare bags and tickets, and manage the harvesting process.
• Seed Storage Preparation: Oversee the receipt and storage of seeds, working closely with the inventory manager.
• Quality Control: Coordinate and perform leaf sampling and fruit picking for health checks, adhering to GSPP procedures in collaboration with the quality manager.
• Process Documentation: Document the growing process, identify unusual plants, and decide on PCR tests in consultation with the product manager.
• Foundation Seed Support: Assist the foundation seed department with parent line multiplication, including sowing, transferring parent lines, producing parent seeds, and managing warehouse intake

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture (Plant Sciences, Plant Protection) - Required
• Experience in Seed Companies/Nurseries - Minimum of 2 years preferred
• Willingness to Travel Domestically
• Precision, Organization, and Attention to Detail
• Ability to Work in Greenhouses
• Proficiency in Computer Systems - Strong Excel skills
• High Level of English Proficiency
