Overview

The Moshal Program is a leading social transformation organization committed to bridging the gap between a challenging past and a promising future through higher education in Israel and South Africa. Since 2009, we have enabled thousands of individuals to transform their lives through higher education. We are looking for an exceptional and visionary leader to serve as our Global CEO and take the program to the next phase of growth.

Position Summary

The Moshal Program is seeking a passionate and dynamic CEO to lead our established organization into its next phase of growth.

This visionary leader will be responsible for managing our global team, developing and driving a strategic vision, and ensuring program growth and operational excellence. The CEO will play a pivotal role in guiding the Moshal Program to fulfill its mission of fostering economic mobility and creating a world where every child can unlock their potential and prosper. By championing support and collaborations, the CEO will work to break down barriers and create pathways to success for those who are underserved. We are looking for a dedicated leader with a proven track record in scaling organizations, who is deeply motivated to drive substantial social and economic change, particularly with a current focus on Israel. This role requires a leader committed to making a measurable impact and creating lasting opportunities for future generations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership:

  • Vision and Strategy: Develop and articulate a clear and compelling growth strategy for the next phase of the Moshal Program, aligned with its mission and objectives.
  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the organization through the execution of a comprehensive strategic plan to ensure successful and sustainable growth and impact while maintaining current achievements.
  • Program Leadership: Develop a comprehensive understanding of our target audience and serve as an inspirational role model to all stakeholders, including team members, youth, candidates, students, alumni, and partners, leading by example.
  • Scaling Up: Identify and pursue opportunities for scaling up the program through innovative approaches, collaborations, partnerships, and new funding sources.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and government entities.

2. Management and Operational Excellence:

  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and leadership to staff, recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven environment. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the program’s impact, showing personal interest and commitment to the success and achievements of our beneficiaries, actively engaging where necessary.
  • Financial Management: Manage the organization’s budget, finances, and resources to ensure sustainability and financial health.Deliver financial health reports on a regular cadence.
  • Operational Systems: Implement and maintain strong operational systems and processes to support effective program delivery and organizational growth.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards of program delivery, continuously seeking ways to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data and insights to inform strategic decisions, demonstrate effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish and oversee systems for monitoring and evaluating the social and economic impact of the program.

3. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, actively seek new partners including donors, relevant government offices, educational institutions, employers and sources of future students.
  • Communication: Advocate for the Moshal Program, representing the organization locally and internationally.
  • Board Relations: Engage and collaborate with the Chair on strategic decision-making, ensuring effective governance and alignment with the organization’s goals.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to the organization’s operations and reputation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced degree (Master level) in a relevant field is a must! Please don’t apply without.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven business experience of at least 20 years in a senior leadership role with a track record of driving strategic growth and impact. Lead with unwavering integrity and responsibility in managing the program’s resources. Proven ability to inspire and build diverse and highly effective teams, both internally and externally, ensuring everyone feels valued and included. Align with the values of the Moshal Program, which are responsibility, respect, resilience, resonance, relationships, reflect & respond.
  • Operational Management: Experience in managing a dynamic organization of 50 employees globally, a budget to fully support thousands of students on an ongoing basis with operational systems effectively. Demonstrated understanding of business planning, financial budgeting and accounting processes. Ability to delve into project detail when necessary, while also integrating insights to inform overall strategy.
  • Strategic Abilities: Exceptional strategic thinking, writing, and public speaking abilities, with a talent for articulating a clear and compelling vision.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, partners, government agencies, and educational institutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex problems for a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Fundraising Expertise: Strong fundraising and development skills, with a history of securing significant financial support from various sources.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to inspire, lead, and develop a high-performing team in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
  • Passion for Impact: Deep passion for measurable impact and creating educational opportunities, with a commitment to the Moshal Program’s mission.
  • Experience working with Israel’s diverse communities and cultures is essential.
  • International Experience: Significant international experience, with at least three years of studying, working, or living outside of Israel.
  • Languages: Fluent in Hebrew and English.
