Software Engineer- Azure Core

Our team is working on new FPGA-based accelerators to create hardware/software solutions that can achieve higher performance and scale for the future of Azure cloud digital data processing. We work on cutting edge technology that makes a difference for millions of people worldwide.

As a Software Engineer II in Azure Core Hardware Acceleration, you will help enhance the security of our software and hardware solutions. This opportunity will allow you to gain experience in the design and and productization of large software/hardware solutions and work with security experts to analyze weaknesses and then test and stress our systems. The position supports working from home but arrival at the office is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Application Programming Interfaces (API) and data flows.
• Design and implementing software services that challenge our acceleration software and hardware.
• Create and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable and taking code from concept to production
• Collaborate with other Security teams in Microsoft.
  
  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  

Other Requirements

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
• OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,
• OR Python
• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• Experience with low level SW – interfacing and interacting with hardware.
• Experience with validation of hardware, Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) or Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA).
• Experience with networking protocols and/or data storage systems
