Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Development: Guide and nurture a team of AI researchers to cultivate an environment enriched with innovation, collaboration, and outstanding performance.
• AI Technology Deployment: Spearhead the swift development and deployment of AI technologies in agile settings, ensuring the on-time delivery of robust, production-grade software.
• Excellence in AI Processes: Promote excellence in AI research and engineering processes from model creation and training to testing and deployment, emphasizing scalability, reliability, and effectiveness.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Engage actively with various teams to pinpoint business opportunities and tailor AI-driven solutions that align with customer demands.
• Trend Monitoring and Innovation: Remain updated with the latest trends in AI, particularly in the realms of Computer Vision and Vision-Language models, and embed pioneering techniques into our offerings.
• Data Utilisation: Transform Nexar’s extensive datasets into powerful, transformative AI applications with significant impacts.
• Product Integration: Coordinate with engineering teams to seamlessly integrate AI research into commercial products.
• Research Goal Alignment: Work intimately with product and business development teams to gather insights on user and business necessities and convert these into focused research goals.
  
  

Requirements

Technical skills & qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field, with a preference for Ph.D.
• Profound knowledge in deep learning, computer vision, generative AI, and algorithm development.
• Demonstrable success in leading AI initiatives from concept through to operational deployment in commercial settings, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
• At least 5 years of direct experience in crafting deep learning and computer vision algorithms.
• Substantial experience in agile development practices, focused on delivering AI solutions in fast-evolving, dynamic conditions.
• Skilled in modern AI programming languages and frameworks, especially Python and PyTorch.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and model adaption / porting to constrained environments will be a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with a capability to transform business needs into actionable technical strategies.
