AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Server Lab Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our Linux-based server infrastructure, as well as managing various network services and components.

Key job responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Linux-based servers and systems, including installation, configuration, and optimization.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for server hardware, software, and networking components.
• Manage and configure network services such as DHCP, PXE, and other critical infrastructure components.
• Assist with the design, planning, and implementation of network infrastructure, including switches and other networking equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and performance of the Labs environment.
• Participate in the development and implementation of Labs policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and industry developments.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a System-Admin/Lab Engineer or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems and server administration.
• Hands-on experience with server hardware, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues.
• Knowledge of services such as DHCP, PXE, and other related technologies.
• Strong networking understanding, including hands-on experience with switches.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Highly motivated and adaptable to a dynamic and demanding work environment.
• Fast learner with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Linux, networking, security).
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience writing scripts & automations processes.
• Expertise in network design, planning, and implementation.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud computing.
