Commerce + Ecosystems (C+E) is responsible for enabling and optimizing the end-to-end customer journey on the Microsoft Cloud.

C+E’s Commerce Platform and Experience (CPX) team helps customers learn about, purchase and pay for Microsoft and third-party products and services by facilitating all transactions, as well as managing the core commerce engine that powers Microsoft business, sales motions,

and cloud strategy.

Marketplace is the business engine that enables customers to seamlessly discover, try and buy every cloud solution that matters. Working with a network of hundreds of thousands of partners around the world, offering thousands of listings such as cloud building blocks, software products, add-ons and services, our Cloud Marketplace is driving Microsoft’s business across Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365.

We are looking for a talented senior Technical Program Manager to join the team and help us continue and grow our Marketplace business. The ideal candidate is an experienced and independent professional, with great interpersonal skills and strong technical abilities, a person who wishes to influence, learn and grow.

Joining the Marketplace team will place you in one of the most interesting and most influential areas. It will expose you to all the latest technologies and the most recent trends of worldwide cloud adoption.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Marketplace data assets throughout their full life cycle: requirements to retirement.
• Map business requirements to data architecture and create a prioritized plan of deliveries, based on existing and proposed data assets.
• Partner with multiple engineering teams, within and outside of the Marketplace org., to design the data architecture across feature areas, while identifying risks and proposing technical and architectural mitigations. 
• Define dependencies and create relationships for implementing complex cross-functional. cross-team scenario features. Coordinating and ensuing alignment across organizations. 
• Track project schedules, develop staging and implementation plans, and manage governance programs.
  
  

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience in data systems architecture, data engineering, modern data management and data management frameworks and tools.
• Understand Microsoft marketplace architecture strategic and competitive position and deliver data solutions which are aligned with Microsoft mission.
• Ability to develop and drive data requirements, data architecture and schema, enabling business growth in highly distributed and massive scale service environment.
• Familiarity with ecommerce, search engines and online services.
• Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL/KQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python).
• B.Sc./Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Data Engineering, Computer Science or related Exact Sciences and Engineering field.
• Ability to articulate insights and vision; solid data driven story telling.
• Excellent communication and cross group collaboration skills. Great people and teamwork abilities.
