Join Our Research Team!
We are excited to announce that we have three openings for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in our group at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
Available Positions:1. Graduate Student: Nanostructure Fabrication Using Self-Assembly of Nanoparticles
Research Focus: Fabrication of nanostructures with applications in optical nanostructures. You will develop cutting edge methodologies for scalable and precise fabrication of quasiperiodic nano-architectures by ultra-fast dry self assembly and mechanical transfer. The research will include the fundamental study of the assembly phenomena of polydisperse nanoparticles, allowing to yield non-conventional yet highly controlled structures, and their applications in various filed including but not limited to precision optics and biology. See example in our recent publication: Tzadka et al, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 16, 17846–17856 (2024)
- Required Background: Materials science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, or related fields.
- Preferred Experience: Optics, electron microscopy, and nanofabrication.
2. Graduate Student/Postdoc: Nanomaterials in T Cell Signaling and Immune Response
- Research Focus: Exploring how extracellular biophysical cues (ligand distribution, elasticity, nanotopography) influence T cell signaling and immune response. You will engineer nanoscale systems for controlled biophysical stimulation of immune cells though positioning of activating biomolecules and nanoscale mechanical stimulation, and use them to address fundamental questions in the biophysics of the immune system. See examples in our recent publications: Toledo, Le Saux et al Science Adv. 7, eabc1640 (2021), Pandey et al Nano Lett. 24, 5359-5402 (2024),
- Required Background: Interdisciplinary fields such as materials science, biophysics, biomedical engineering, or chemical engineering.
- Preferred Experience: Understanding of T-cell biology, experimental cell biology, biomaterials, and biological microscopy.
3. Graduate Student/Postdoc: Engineering Nanostructures for T Cell Adoptive Immunotherapy Against Cancer
- Research Focus: Developing nanostructures for engineered T cells to enhance adoptive immunotherapy for cancer treatment. You will engineer elastic nanostructured surfaces that produce tuned mechanical stimulation of T cells, which is in turn produce superior immunotherapies against caner. See examples in or recent publications: Pandey et al, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 15, 31103−31113 (2023), Bhingardive et al, Nano Lett., 21, 4241−4248 (2021), Bhingardive et al, Adv. Funct. Mater. 2103063 (2021).
- Required Background: Interdisciplinary fields such as materials science, biophysics, biomedical engineering, or chemical engineering.
- Preferred Experience: Understanding of T-cell biology, experimental cell biology, biomaterials, and biological microscopy.
