Data Engineer

A gaming company has developed a platform featuring a mobile game with tens of thousands of downloads and hundreds of thousands of daily users, experiencing a high growth rate of several tens of percent per year. They specialize in immersive gaming, creating a sense that the player is truly "there" during the game.

The game is highly successful in the U.S. in terms of downloads and daily users, with a growth rate doubling every few months.

The company is located in Tel Aviv, easily accessible by public transportation, and offers one work-from-home day per week.

Job description: Part of a newly forming team of data and big data engineers, reporting to the team leader. The role involves developing data pipelines, integrating and unifying data sources while working in a big data environment. Eventually, the team will implement machine learning infrastructure. The work involves Python, GCP, Kafka, Airflow, Redis, and BigQuery.

Responsibility-

• Creating new data solutions while supporting and optimizing existing ones
• Support data related backend services
• Managing a data structure & model, which supports and reflects the actual business needs
• Innovation and ownership of BI initiatives and projects both on an ongoing and an ad-hoc basis
• Designing, implementing, and testing end-to-end data models, data flows, and data enrichment processes

Requirements-

• BA/BSC degree in: Computer Science/Information systems or related field required
• 5+ years' experience as a Data Engineer in a Big Data environment
• Vast experience in data modeling
• Experience with Airflow
• Strong scripting capabilities with Python
• Experience with RDBMS
• Experience in SQL tuning and ETL process improvements (DBT - advantage)
• Proficient in DWH methodologies and best practices (BigQuery - advantage)
