Mechanical Design Engineer

A start-up in the solar energy sector developing technological solutions for medium and large-scale solar sites, primarily focusing on photovoltaics. Their mission is to unlock the potential of solar energy by solving the industry's biggest challenges - intermittency and reliability.

They offer smart PV tracker solutions that are modular, configurable, lightweight, and easy to install and maintain, providing 20-25% more energy production than fixed-tilt panels. The company employs approximately 120 employees and was acquired by a large and well-known green energy company. They have paying customers both domestically and internationally and are based in Jerusalem, incorporating a work-from-home option.

The company was founded by veterans of the solar energy industry with hundreds of years of combined solar industry experience.

Responsibility

• Lead mechanical development, expanding the existing product capabilities as well as developing new products.
• Support different teams inside the company: purchase and logistics, engineering, product, electronics and SW and field teams.
• Work with stakeholders outside the company such as suppliers, manufacturers.
• Design and execute of tests and test plans
• Failure analysis and investigation

Requirements-

• 5-7 years Experience of Mechanical / avionics engineer
• Experience with design of motion systems and mechanisms
• Experience with force calculations and FEA
• Familiar with geometrical tolerances (GD&T)
