Investment Manager

SVIC Israel Summary:

Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (SVIC), headquartered in Seoul, Korea, is the corporate VC arm of the Samsung Group and Samsung Ventures Israel (SVI) operates as the Israel office for SVIC. The primary responsibilities of SVI are to source, qualify, and invest in technology-related companies that are strategic to Samsung-affiliated companies and their business units. SVIC’s primary investment areas include semiconductors, materials, mobile service and software, cyber security, enterprise sw, fintech/insuretech, ESG, and life science with a current valuation over $2.8B AUM.

Position Summary:

The Investment Manager of SVI source and present investment target companies/opportunities to SVIC HQ.  He/she will work closely with other investment team leaders/members in HQ in driving all aspects of investments for Israel office, while overseeing and managing overall operations. This is a Junior Role.

Role and Responsibilities:

·       Enhancing SVI’s visibility and reputation through networking with local start-up and other VC/CVC community

·       Create and manage a pipeline of potential investment candidates and maintain relationships

·       Research emerging technology trends, align with Samsung strategy and develop thesis around them

·       Critically evaluate investment opportunities and their fit to Samsung’s strategic priorities

·       Manage deal and due diligence process for potential investments – market & company analysis, product and tech understanding, competitive analysis, financial valuation

·       Portfolio management of existing investments (reports and analysis of the portfolio of investments)

Requirements :

·       Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is required

·       Able to work in flexible hours is required (mainly with Korea)

·  Extensive knowledge in either Semiconductor industry or SW Engineering (AI, Enterprise, cloud, cyber) is preferred

·       Previous experience working in VC/CVC or business role in a tech incubator or corporate strategy roles is preferred

·       Familiarity and experience with startups dynamics, stages of evolution, operations, strategy and finance

·       Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve measurable results

·       Proactive team player who can push and promote new ideas as well as self-managing professional
