Director of Video Department

Role Overview:

Jewish News Syndicate, the fastest-growing news agency covering Israel and the Jewish world, is seeking a full-time Director of the Video Department to shape the visual narrative of the organization, streamlining and expanding the department, driving engagement, and contributing significantly to the overall brand identity.

We are looking for a dynamic leader who can drive the strategic vision, planning, and execution of all video content produced within our organization. Reporting to senior leadership, you'll manage a team of creative professionals, oversee the entire video production process, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, engaging video content that aligns with our organization's objectives.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of the US/Israel political and Middle East landscape and Global/American Jewish communities, along with proven track record in video production management, demonstrating exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and creative prowess. We're seeking someone who can inspire and elevate the team's work, delivering innovative video content that enhances our brand visibility and engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Develop and implement a compelling vision for the video department that aligns with the organization's goals and enhances overall brand strategy.
• Lead a team in creating innovative video strategies that boost organization visibility and audience engagement across multiple platforms (including running 5 podcasts, and planning the launch of 5 more by the end of the year)
• Mentor and manage a diverse team of 10 that includes: videographers, editors, production professionals and podcast hosts), fostering a collaborative and creative environment, and recruit new staff.
• Oversee the entire video production process, from concept development to final delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Ensure high standards of quality and consistency in all video content, reviewing scripts, storyboards, and final edits to align with the brand’s image.
• Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve production processes and elevate content quality.
• Develop and manage the video department’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand and fulfill their video content needs, ensuring alignment of resources and strategic objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with external agencies, freelancers, and production partners to enhance production capabilities and meet project requirements.

What You Bring:

• 5+ years experience in a similar leadership role within a video production and news environment, with a proven track record in successfully producing podcasts, growing audiences, and building teams.
• English mother tongue.
• Solid understanding of the US/Israel political landscape and Global/American Jewish communities
• Strong portfolio demonstrating successful video projects and campaigns.
• Proficiency in video production tools, equipment, and software, including AI.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent creative and strategic thinking abilities.
• Proactive, with a strong attention to detail.
• Bachelor's degree in Film, Communications, Media, or a related field.
