Senior NPI Engineer

NewPhotonics is disrupting data center processing with novel photonic engines solving the power and performance challenges. We are looking for a Senior New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in shaping the technological landscape of our organization. The successful candidate for this position has a track record of strength and aptitude relevant to the following areas:

 •      Develop comprehensive documentation to support production processes, including work instructions, flow charts, procedures, routings, and product labels. Coordinate cross-functional teams, maintain project schedules, and ensure timely achievement of milestones.

•      Collaborate closely with other departments throughout the new product development process to ensure designs meet specifications, testability, and manufacturability requirements.

•      Actively engage in design reviews, offering valuable insights into new electronic circuit designs.

•      Resolve yield issues by troubleshooting manufacturing challenges, addressing design flaws, and implementing corrective actions to enhance product quality and reliability.

•      Oversee robust testing and validation processes to verify compliance with performance specifications and reliability standards. This includes designing test plans, analyzing test data, and collaborating with design and testing teams to optimize product performance.

•      Monitor audit and review outcomes to identify areas for continuous improvement in NPI quality and first-time yield. Coordinate and implement improvement plans accordingly.

•      Develop and implement standardized procedures for the production of new products, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

•      Provide technical support and training to production personnel for the release of new products and procedures.

•      Drive cost reduction initiatives through ongoing improvements in production methods and yields.

•      Manage Bill of Material (BOM) and Configuration and Change Control (CCC) processes effectively.

•      Establish and maintain relationships with ecosystem partners to build a robust supply chain, incorporating business, manufacturing, technology, engineering, and quality considerations to ensure design acceptance and manufacturability.

Requirements:

5+ years experience as NPI with electronics manufacturing company - Must

•      Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering - Must

•      Experience with electronics components and electronics circuits – Must

•      Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).

•      Experience working with leading EMS and contractors.

•      Experience with PDM tools (Agile/ Arena / or similar)

•      Experience with ERP system (priority or similar)

•      Proven experience with implementation and improvement of engineering processes

•      Demonstrated ability to establish, communicate, and implement long-term strategic and operational goals.

•      Effectively manage a volume of work across multiple projects and teams simultaneously.

•      Organized and detail oriented, demonstrates a high level of commitment and drive for excellence, and generates enthusiasm among the Team

 Preferred Qualifications:

·      Electrical Engineering background or related engineering field, especially with a focus on silicon photonics or optical communications

·      Strong end-to-end understanding of all aspects of semiconductor chip development
