Mobile Application and Backend Development Manager

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire our Ukraine-based team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and direction on mobile application development, backend architecture, and best practices to both individual contributors and tech leads.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of mobile projects across time zones, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders, often remotely, to define project requirements, prioritize features, and ensure alignment between business goals and technical solutions.
• Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile and backend technologies, tools, and trends, and recommend adoption of new technologies that can enhance our products and processes.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor the performance, stability, and security of our mobile applications and backend systems, and implement optimizations to improve user experience and efficiency.
• Recruitment and Training: Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities to existing team members, leveraging virtual tools and resources.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in mobile application development (iOS and/or Android).
• 3+ years of experience in backend development using relevant technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java).
• 2+ years of experience leading and managing geographically distributed development teams.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of mobile application development frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin).
• Proficiency in backend technologies and frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on remote collaboration.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams across different locations and time zones.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with mobile app stores and submission processes.
• Understanding of mobile analytics and user behavior tracking.
• Experience with security best practices for mobile applications and backend systems.
