Purchase Specialist

A purchasing specialist for a leading projects, construction and services company.

You will work as a part of a team to procure goods, services, and materials required by the organization in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining efficient operations and ensuring the availability of necessary resources.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate terms and conditions, and select reliable vendors.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels, anticipate future needs, and place orders accordingly.
• Collaborate with various departments to understand their requirements and ensure timely delivery of purchased items.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and invoices for auditing and reporting purposes.
• Continuously seek cost-saving opportunities through vendor negotiations, bulk purchases, or alternative sourcing options.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to purchases, returns, or vendor performance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies throughout the purchasing process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related fiel- an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing and procurement roles.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in using procurement software and spreadsheet applications (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Excel).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work full time – working hours from 8:00- 17:00- overtime as needed.
