Senior Cloud FinOps Enginer

Bluevine seeks a highly skilled Senior Cloud FinOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure Group. This role demands a seasoned professional with extensive experience in DevOps and FinOps within AWS environments. As a pivotal team member, you will be responsible for implementing cost-saving strategies, and enhancing financial performance through automation and strategic planning.

What You'll Do:

Cost Optimization: Evaluate AWS usage for cost reduction opportunities and implement automated solutions and lifecycle management with DevOps and FinOps tools.
Financial Governance: Establish spending policies and automate precise cost forecasts. Detecting and managing cost anomalies. Create optimized savings and commitment plans.
Tools Proficiency: Utilize DevOps and FinOps tools for continuous cost monitoring and reporting, staying updated on new solutions.
Data and Invoice Analysis and Reporting: Develop in depth reports on AWS spending trends, sharing insights for informed decision-making.
Collaboration: Work closely with Infrastructure, R&D and Data teams to integrate automated FinOps practices and support cost-efficient AWS practices.
Policy and Best Practices: Create and automate FinOps policies and guidelines as well as conduct training sessions on cost management best practices.
Continuous Improvement: Automate assessment and refinement of FinOps processes, implementing innovative solutions for streamlined cost management workflows.
What We Look For:

5+ years of experience as an engineer in DevOps/SRE/Infra teams.
At least 2 years of specialized experience in AWS FinOps or cost management.
Extensive proficiency in AWS services and a wide array of DevOps tools, including but not limited to Terraform and Jenkins.
Hands-on experience with cloud cost management tools, with a demonstrable track record of successful implementation.
Comprehensive understanding of cloud financial concepts, with a proven ability to leverage automation for accurate cost modeling and forecasting.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical details to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proficient in documenting and sharing automated processes to facilitate team understanding and collaboration.
Proven ability to identify and automate cost optimization opportunities, with a strategic mindset for troubleshooting and resolving financial challenges.
Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), data analysis using SQL and scripting language (e.g. python)
