Computer Vision Engineer

A startup in the Augmented Reality sector has developed an algorithm based on Computer Vision that can assess the real-time movements of photographed individuals and translate these movements into computer software without the need for wearable sensors.

Examples of applications include collaborating with animation teams that can avoid heavy investments in sophisticated equipment, enabling 3D sports broadcasts through integration with smart glasses—athletes can be projected onto nearby objects for a 3D viewing experience—and facilitating research systems in biomechanics and more.

The company, founded by experienced entrepreneurs, has received seed funding and forward funding with a runway of at least two years. It has paying customers and has reached a stage where each new addition to the team is significant and influential.

Role Description:

• The role reports to the CTO and involves a blend of 100% hands-on work and technological leadership of two researchers and algorithm developers.
• The position primarily entails coding in C++ (around 80% of the role), with the remainder focused on research.
• The team specializes in computer vision, developing algorithms based on image and video processing, 3D work using both classical and AI methods, and developing machine/deep learning models.
• They also work with CUDA, with a tendency towards the engineering side rather than purely theoretical approaches.

Requirements

● B.Sc. degree in a technical field from a university, or equivalent experience with robust software engineering skills.

● 5 years of experience in CV algorithm development and implementation.

● Strong hands-on experience in software development, especially in C++ and Python, with a demonstrable portfolio of code and projects.

● Experience with CUDA development is highly desirable.

● Proven track record of not only leading but also directly contributing to complex projects.

● Deep knowledge and experience in Deep Learning and data-driven solutions.

● Prior experience in 3D transformations is advantageous.

● Leadership experience in a technical team environment.
