Process Development Engineer

Tenova Advanced Technologies is an international company offering comprehensive solutions for the mineral processing. Leading developments for lithium extraction, lithium-ion battery recycling and purification of phosphoric acid to battery and food grades, and we are looking for a Process Development Engineer.

Purpose of role:

To join the process development team and develop separation processes for the chemical industry, mainly solvent extraction, reaction and membranes separation.

In this position, you will lead process development by designing plans, managing, and conducting laboratory and pilot experiments and analyzing results. You'll be hands-on in optimizing processes and resolving issues with processes and process equipment.
Key areas of responsibility:

• Develop and optimize chemical processes for international industrial applications.

• Perform literature reviews, write detailed work plans, and manage laboratory and pilot scale tests.

• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues.

• Monitor and analyze results, to ensure optimal process performance.

• Define the process and scale-up paraments required for the industrial scale

• Prepare comprehensive reports and present your findings to both internal teams and external clients.

• Participate in engineering document preparation and review (PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, equipment lists, etc.).

• Conduct improvement studies on company property equipment and implementation of new technologies

• Implement enhancements to work procedures.

• International travel for project oversight and assistance.

Qualification / Experience

Mandatory requirements

• B.Sc. in chemical engineering / Biotechnology Engineering, or a related field.

• 5-10 years of experience in the chemical industry

• Proven experience with chemical process R&D, optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

• English literate - excellent presentation and communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.

• Willingness to travel abroad.

Additional requirements

• Experience with chemical process R&D, optimization and troubleshooting

• Experience in using process simulation software (ASPEN) and data analysis (JMP)

• Able to manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills.

• Strong research skills, including the capability to read and interpret scientific articles and conduct comprehensive literature surveys.
