Job Description

We are looking for a talented and motivated Full Stack Engineer with a strong focus on front-end development to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and enhancing our patient and dermatologist facing applications. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain our front-end codebase using React. You will also collaborate with our back-end team to integrate APIs and occasionally work on database and server-side logic.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain user interfaces using React.
• Create reusable and maintainable UI components.
• Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless communication between front-end and back-end systems.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Conduct peer code reviews and ensure code quality and best practices.
• Write unit tests and participate in automated testing processes.
• Work closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality products.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and be open to learning about back-end and database technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in front-end development.
• Deep understanding of React, including hooks, state management, and component lifecycle.
• Proficiency in JavaScript.
• Experience with github and version control workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
• Basic knowledge of RESTful API design and development.
• Eagerness to learn about back-end development, database design and AI (including LLMs and vision models).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with state management libraries like Redux.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest, Enzyme, or React Testing Library.
• Experience or knowledge in back-end technologies like Flask (python) or similar.
• Cloud Services: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and CI/CD pipelines.

Bonus points if you have

• Direct experience working with patients or providers
• Experience with healthcare data
• Early stage startup experience
• Demonstrated passion for the patient experience
