Software QA Engineer with Biology background

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Software QA Engineer with a strong background in biology to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Bioinformatics or a related field and have experience in software quality assurance. The candidate should be proficient in using JIRA for bug tracking and project management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for our GeneCards Suite applications and their underlying data.
• Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure the quality and functionality of our software.
• Collaborate with other stakeholders to understand requirements and define testing criteria.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using JIRA.
• Perform regression testing to verify resolved issues and ensure ongoing software and data stability.
• Analyze test results, identify trends, and report findings to the development team.
• Work closely with the biology and software development teams to understand the scientific context of the software.
• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
• Minimum of two years of experience in software quality assurance
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Strong English language communication skills – both written and oral
• Experience with automated testing tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of biomedical databases and familiarity with bioinformatics tools is highly desirable
