Role Description

This is a remote contract role (freelance) for a Character Artist. The Character Artist will be responsible for character artwork for an animated historical humoristic series featuring characters such as Albert Einstein, Dian Fossey, Cleopatra, and themes like the history of chocolate and games.

Qualifications

• Professional knowledge of Adobe Photoshop (min 3 yrs) is a must.
• Knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony (1 yr+) is a plus.
• Experience with cutout animation is a plus.
• Experience with TV animated series pipeline is a plus (1 yr+)- Character Designs and Character Art skills
• Attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Portfolio showcasing previous character art and designs

Your responsibilities and General terms:

• After receiving from us a model sheet, an animation sequence layout, animatic and a breakdown of the exact artwork needs, you'll create the character artwork for sequences, starting with accurate sketches, followed by inking and coloring.
• Making amendments based on our Art Director's and clients' instructions and feedback.
• Preferably using Toon Boom, but Photoshop is acceptable if you are not familiar with Toon Boom.
• If using Photoshop, delivering your work separated into the layers needed for animation as specified by our lead animator.
• The production of the series is expected to last over a year, but your participation is flexible, based on your availability. That is, you don't have to be with us all the way.
• Having said that, applicants must be able to start immediately.
