Role Overview: Cybersecurity School Lead

Masterschool invites applications for the role of Cybersecurity School Lead. This pivotal leadership position oversees the educational quality and success of the Cybersecurity programs. The School Lead ensures curriculum relevance, student satisfaction, retention, and placement, while dynamically adapting the program based on the latest cybersecurity industry trends, student feedback, and staff input.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the Curriculum Architect to continuously refine and update the cybersecurity curriculum, ensuring it meets evolving industry needs and incorporates feedback from students and staff.
• Program Management: Oversee the management of different cybersecurity program cohorts, guaranteeing successful delivery and adherence to the highest educational standards.
• Staff Leadership: Lead and manage the program owners, mentors, and instructors within the cybersecurity school, promoting excellence in instruction and student support.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain close connections with cybersecurity industry professionals, academic staff, and students to gather feedback and implement program improvements. Facilitate regular strategy meetings to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for advancement.
• Student Success: Prioritize student learning outcomes and career readiness, contributing to high rates of student satisfaction and academic achievement within the cybersecurity domain.

Qualifications

• Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, capable of inspiring staff and driving educational success.
• Significant experience in educational leadership or program management, with a strong preference for a background in cybersecurity or related tech fields.
• Deep knowledge of the cybersecurity educational landscape, including current industry trends, technologies, and practices.
• Superior organizational skills, proficient in managing multiple program cohorts and adapting to the fast-paced evolution of cybersecurity education.
• Robust communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with expertise in building relationships with industry professionals, academic staff, and students.
• Established connections within the IT and cybersecurity hiring community are a big plus.
• Hands-on experience in IT and cybersecurity operations, preferably with experience as a SOC Analyst (Tier 2 or Tier 3) or a SOC team leader. This experience should include active engagement in monitoring, incident response, threat analysis, and expertise in managing and securing cloud environments.
• Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field. Professional certifications in IT and cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Azure AZ-104, CISM, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer) are highly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise with online learning platforms such as Zoom and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, focusing on implementing security controls, conducting security assessments, and responding to security incidents within cloud architectures.
• Deep understanding of current and emerging cybersecurity threats, technological advancements, cloud security challenges, and industry best practices.
