Role overview: 

As a co-founder and CTO you will be instrumental in shaping our technological vision and strategic direction along with leading the development of a pioneering ophthalmic medical device. This role requires a strategic mindset to drive the product from concept through commercialization, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards. This job is mainly held in Ariel with flexibility to a remote work.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop and execute the technology and clinical roadmap for our cutting-edge medical device in close collaboration with the clinical team. 
• Oversee all phases of product development from initial concept , design, verification & validation (V&V), and product transfer to production. 
• Establish and maintain all necessary Design History Files (DHF) and Device Master Records (DMR) to meet international compliance. 
• Initially work independently and later recruit, mentor, and build a skilled R&D team dedicated to continuous innovation and technical excellence. 
• Foster a culture of agility and proactive problem-solving as the company scales from startup to market leader.

Requirements: 

• Over 10 years in medical device engineering, specifically in device design and development. Experience with ophthalmic devices or related fields - an advantage.   
• A big plus - knowledge of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation technologies and their application in medical treatments.
• Over 8 years leading R&D teams, with experience in managing cross-disciplinary teams including hardware engineers, software developers, and clinical researchers. 
• Solid experience in navigating through international regulatory environments with a proven track record in obtaining approvals for medical devices
• Strong background in product lifecycle development from concept through to commercialization.
• Demonstrated capability in startup environments or new business units within larger companies.
• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
• Fluent in Hebrew and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
