Cheezburger.com is looking for freelance writers to join our team of editors. If you have a passion for storytelling, humor, internet culture, this might just be the perfect opportunity for you. Two of the brands are looking for writers - please select the one that personally speaks to you and you feel passionate about.

CheezCake: Cheezburger’s female-oriented brand, CheezCake, is a lighthearted page that deals with topics about love, relationships, dating, motherhood, and the general experience of being a woman. 

I Can Has Cheezburger/Animal Comedy: I Can Has Cheezburger, the original cat meme destination since 2007, focuses on cats, comedy, and all things purrfectly silly. We specialize in wholesome editorial content, hissterical memes, and storytelling. You will also be writing for Animal Comedy, I Can Has Cheezburger’s sister brand, which engages with all things howlarious, awwdorable, and everything in between.

Responsibilities: 

● Create and edit high-quality content for Cheezburger.com, including articles and listicles 

● Research and stay up-to-date with trends and topics 

● Brainstorm and pitch new content ideas that align with the given brand voice and audience 

● Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure content is on-brand and meets our editorial standards 

● Edit and proofread content for accuracy, grammar, and style 

● Optimize content for SEO and social media engagement (we will guide) ● Manage and adhere to editorial calendars and deadlines 

Skills: 

● Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail ● Organizational skills 

● Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment 

● Ability to search and find trending content on social media platforms such as Twitter, Reddit, TikTok, etc.
