What We’re Looking For

Cross River’s Technology team is made up of problem solvers hungry to perfect new products and systems. As the Senior AWS and Database Engineer you play a key role. You will keep the databases up and running in AWS and On-Prem. You will be a key architect of our constantly evolving AWS environment, assist with automation, help develop the CICD process for all DB changes in AWS (using Terra Form and other tools in Amazon eco-system), assist with cloud migrations, cost optimization, backup strategy, and more. You will also help cement the PostgreSQL and other Open-Source databases and components in the group.

Qualifications

• Proven working experience as a Database administrator in the cloud and On-Prem
• Knowledge and understanding of SQL, high proficiency level with stored procedures, functions, views, etc
• Strong experience with Partitioning
• Excellent knowledge of backups, recovery, management, and encryption
• Solid administration experience in AWS eco-system, especially with commercial (MS-SQL, ElasticSearch, etc.) and open-source (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) databases
• Strong database and infrastructure architecture experience
• Good Communication skills
• Knowledge of PowerShell, AlwaysOn Clusters and Availability Groups (Distributed Availability Groups a big plus)
• Experience with SSRS and SSIS (Scale-out experience is big plus)
• Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
• Previous experience with DBA and third-party tools
• BS degree in a computer discipline
