IB Mechanical Engineer

This position refers to leading the technical support and solutions for the Installed Base (IB) systems in the field and in manufacturing. The position includes working in close interfaces with other functions inside the R&D and with Manufacturing (MFG), Service (SRV) and more, in Israel and the rest of the world.

Solutions and support refer to receiving tasks, analyse their impact including safety impact, analysis of the required changes, design new parts or modifying existing parts and assemblies, writing instructions, V&V, creating ECR/ECO and releasing in our PDM and PLM systems.

Responsibilities:

• Be the focal point and lead all mechanical design activities related to the support of Manufacturing service of systems in the field.
• Conduct cost reduction projects and support manufacturing sites transitions between the sites around the globe .
• Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical systems to identify and mitigate potential failures.
• Perform failure analysis to identify root causes of failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and implement design changes (ECO) to improve the reliability and maintainability of mechanical systems compliant with the medical regulations and standards.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization: Work with internal and external functions in GEHC to bring to closure tasks upon programs priorities.
• Work with other teams, mainly in the Mechanics, System and Electronics groups, to invent the optimal, data driven solutions.
• As finding simple, field upgradeable working solutions for field issues may become highly challenging, bringing such solutions is the responsibility of this position.
• Verify the mechanical solutions by testing. This includes writing the procedures, performing tests, and documenting them.
• Perform safety related investigations when needed for failed items.
• Write and review documents related to field actions (recalls).

Requirements:

• Mandatory: 1st degree in mechanical engineering, Technion preferred.
• Mandatory: excellent communication and interpersonal skills( speak/writing in English), teamwork, enthusiasm from study, self-motivated, results oriented.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Work experience of at least 5 years in mechanical design, preferred with experience in multidisciplinary systems.
• Ability to lead and be the sole focal point for mechanical tasks in multidisciplinary environment.
• System level understanding of complicated multidisciplinary systems.

• Ability to build BoM’s, create ECR/ECO’s and work with configuration management teams.
