Hardware Team Lead

Nuvo is an emerging leader in maternal-fetal connected health, passionate about creating technology that radically transforms the experience of pregnancy for expectant parents and healthcare providers.  Our remote pregnancy monitoring solution includes a patented wearable device, dynamic cloud-based data capture, and knowledge-sharing across multiple access points.

This is a hand-on Team Lead role, with responsibility for driving the design, development, and quality of the hardware electronic components of our platform.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team and take complete ownership of HW related activity at Nuvo
• Lead and actively participate in board design activities: drive design initiatives, analysis, and development of electronics solutions in accordance with established design, development, and control processes.
• Apply broad knowledge of various electrical product development areas, including part selection, PCB design, electrical design validation, and failure analysis, to inform design decisions and ensure product quality.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and quality standards such as ISO 13485 and FDA Medical Device Design Control processes.
• Create design documentation and verification test plans. Create and update manufacturing documents, technical documentation, and project deliverables to support the production and deployment of hardware solutions.
• Coordinate with external development partners and suppliers, ensuring effective collaboration and timely delivery of components and services.
• Drive new component introduction, obsolescence management, and end-of-life processes to maintain the sustainability of hardware products.
• Support the continuous improvement of HW design and development processes, implementing best practices and addressing areas for optimization.
• Provide support to the team with hardware-related verification activities, including HW QA, board, and component bring-up.
• Assist in certification processes, such as IEC 60601 compliance testing, to ensure regulatory compliance and market readiness of hardware products.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Computer/ Electrical Engineering or similar
• At least 5 years of hands-on HW design experience
• Proven experience in leading a HW team (minimum 5 years)
• Experience in Medical Devices
• Experience in Developing Embedded design preferred
• Experience in mechanical design – preferred
• Good knowledge of electrical schematics CAD tools
• Familiarity with PCB design
• Experience with compliance with regulatory standards & patient care & safety - preferred
• Customer centric orientation
• Strong English communication skills
