Deputy VP of Cargo

A leading shipping company in the north is looking for a Deputy VP of Cargo to their management team.

As Deputy VP of Cargo, you'll play a crucial part in managing imports and exports, sales, enhancing customer relationships, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading a team of 15 employees in import, export, operations, and sales.

• Cultivating strong relationships with agents to handle the import and export.

• Negotiating with global shipping companies for competitive prices and top-notch service.

• Engaging existing customers to ramp up import and export activities while forging connections

with new clients.

• Managing price offers.

• Overseeing department processes and implementing enhancements as needed.

Mandatory qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in business/economics/ logistics.

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in freight forwarding/shipping/ courier companies.

• Expertise in import and export operations.

• Strong negotiation skills.

• Proficiency in English.

• A strategic mindset with a knack for business development.

• Exceptional leadership abilities and motivational skills.

Additional qualifications that would give you an edge:

• Familiarity with the Unifreight system.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel.

• Holding a freight forwarding certificate.

• Technology mindset.
