Senior Release Manager

As a Senior Release Manager within our SaaS organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of our software releases.

Your responsibilities will span from overseeing the release pipeline to managing commitments, risks, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Our SaaS products are at the forefront of innovation, and your contributions directly impact our customers’ experience.

This role reports to the Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Release Pipeline Management:

• Interact daily with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Support, PJM, and Customer Success.
• Coordinate the release of our SaaS products, ensuring they meet schedules and maintain high quality.
• Define and optimize release processes, including planning, building, and deploying software updates.
• Monitor the release pipeline for bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Commitments and Risks:

• Collaborate closely with QA and R&D directors to understand project commitments and priorities.
• Identify and assess risks related to releases, ensuring timely mitigation.
• Communicate risks and potential impacts to stakeholders.

Release Planning and Execution

• Develop and maintain a release calendar, aligning with business goals and customer needs.
• Plan and execute software releases according to the established schedule.
• Coordinate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure successful deployments.

Release Engineer Management:

• Lead and mentor the release Engineer within the team
• Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure their professional growth.
• Collaborate with the release engineer to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Reporting and Metrics:
• Track and report on release progress, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Analyze data to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
• Present findings to senior leadership.

Requirements:

• 5+ of Release management experience in a SaaS company
• B.sc in computer science or equivalent degree
• Experience in a release role in a SaaS company/product
• Agility and Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

• Technical Knowledge:
• Familiarity with CICD, Jira, and Jenkins or a strong technical background to quickly learn these tools.
• Experience working with planning and tracking systems.
• Understanding of feature flag management principles.
