Optical Systems Engineer

Description

The Photonics team is dealing with the 'heart' of the LiDAR: Designing the optical architecture of both current and next-generation systems, dealing with varied aspects of optics, from semiconductor lasers, through advanced detectors and sophisticated optics to achieve a leading optical solution.

Responsibilities

• Electro-optics Design, engineering and simulation
• Working with the development team from the design phase, through proof of concept prototyping and development of the final product
• Optics lab work, including the guidance of optics technicians
• Closely work with other teams at Innoviz – Algorithm, Signal Processing, System, Mechanics and with Program Managers
• Data analysis, presentations to team members and staff
• Work with and guide sub-contractors and suppliers of optical elements
  
  

• B.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering/Physics/Optical Engineering
• MSc in Physics/Electro-optics, Semiconductors related or Physics. PhD – Advantage
• 5+ years of Electro-optics development experience
• Experience with modeling and simulation with tools such as Matlab
• Experience with signal-processing - Advantage
• Electro-optics hands-on lab experience
• Works well within a team across disciplines
