Literally Media’s beloved and well-known staple site Cheezburger has been the ultimate one-stop for all of the entertaining, funny, and share-worthy events that are happening on the Internet since its birth in 2007. The site includes iconic brands like I Can Has Cheezburger, Fail Blog, Memebase, and Geek Universe.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to work for one of the biggest publishers in the US (and the world!) right here from Israel. We’re looking for an Editorial Lead with native English, a deep understanding (and interest) in American internet culture, managerial experience, and tons of drive and ambition.

The role involves creativity and team leadership, alongside actual listicle writing and content creation.

The Editorial Lead is required to attend meetings outside of regular IL work hours (US-facing), per need.

The role is intense and requires extra hours.

The role is based in Herzliya and reports directly to Literally Media’s Israel site manager.

Responsibilities:

●       Contributing to Cheezburger's slate of daily programming with thoughtful, funny, and engaging original written pieces of content.

●       Lead the day-to-day management of editorial teams, which include full time staffers as well as freelancers.

●       Initiate and lead new ventures, content formats and distribution, and monetization opportunities for the Cheezburger brands.

●       Work harmoniously within a talented and passionate group of editors, producers, and executives.

Qualifications:

●       Experience in managing a team.

●       A deep understanding and interest in American internet culture, online trends, memes, Reddit, TikTok, etc.

●       Must have professional writing and editing experience, preferably for media or entertainment websites.

●       Must be able and willing to work and attend meetings outside of regular IL work hours (US-facing) according to need.

●       Must be a leader at heart and de facto, owning a go-getting, positive, ambitious, and KPI-oriented attitude.
