Critical Facilities Junior Technician

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all MEP plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturers recommendations
• Monitor power and environmental conditions within all critical spaces within the facility
• Perform assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS
• Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities
• Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring they area biding SF work rules and processes
• Respond to site incidents, execute appropriate MOP/EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout event
• Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures
• Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management
• Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management
• Adhere to all local, state and federal safety laws and requirements
• Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times
• Complete other duties as assigned by the management team
• Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s. Ensure up to date shift logs / Shift Handover documents are completed/kept at all times
• Ensure the professional image of Serverfarm is presented to clients at all times
• Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works
• Participate in and support MOP/SOP/EOP documentation process for site
• Participate in and support the development of site policies and standards
• Work with site team members to deliver 100% uptime of critical infrastructure
  
  

• A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic Mathematical skills
• Formally trained in electrical/mechanical maintenance
• BMS Knowledge
• Experience (Essential) of maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to clearly defined criteria
• Driver's license type B
• Electrical License – 250A, 630A
• High voltage Licence would be an advantage
• Work permit at its height - valid would be an advantage
  
  

• Any I.T or Data Centre qualifications would be an advantage
• A good knowledge of IT equipment and their components including server, switch and blade technology
• An understanding of the Data Centre environment, and the working restrictions applicable to such environments
• Familiar with the use of Microsoft Office applications
• A good understanding of fault diagnostic techniques including the use of handheld test equipment
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service
• Self-motivated delivery of M&E tasks (both preventative and reactive)
• Self-motivated, ability to work on own initiative
• Punctual and reliable
• Ability to work under pressure, with changing, and often conflicting, priorities to meet deadlines
• A team player, able to work with SFR staff of all levels
• Able to make sound decisions when needed
• Able to work independently for long periods
• Able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment and able to work at heights
• Must be willing to work 12-hour shift pattern made up days and nights, to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns if required
