Process Development Expert/Researcher

Entoprotech is a biotech company developing cutting edge technology to convert food waste to a range of innovative sustainable products in the fields of nutrition, animal health and pharmaceuticals through a large-scale operation using Black Soldier Fly (BSF, Hermetia illucens). For our lab in Granot Industrial Park (Gan Shemuel), we are looking for a Process Development Scientist.

About the position:

Black Soldier Fly larvae is a source of high-quality protein, fat and chitin. Entoprotech R&D department develops novel bioprocess to preserve functionality and optimize the production yields. Process Development Scientist will be responsible for design and execution of the bioprocess from ideation to the R&D scale, and subsequent tech-transfer to the pilot scale. The position combines benchwork, project management and work with multidisciplinary team in strong cooperation with leading academic centers, consultants and industry partners.

Requirements:

Scientific skills:

·      BSc/MSc/PhD degree in  Process Engineering/Food Engineering/Biotechnology/Chemical Engineering or related discipline

·      3+ years of Food/Biotech/Pharma industry experience

·      Acquaintance with the biomass processing technologies: separation, oil pressing, drying –a plus

·      Industrial experience in fat/oil/lipid/protein manufacturing – a plus

Management skills:

·      Project management (budget, timeline, monitoring and reporting)  

·      Scientific communications: preparation of reports, grant proposals and documentation

·      Independent, creative and passionate self-starter who can initiate, deliver and lead a project
