Primary purpose and function of this position:

• Conduct and support enzyme production and fermentation R&D.

Major duties and responsibilities:

• Review scientific literature.
• Plan, develop, and execute experiments for the development of over-expression production strains. 
• Perform enzymatic quantification assays, activity assays, analytical assays, and enzyme kinetics.
• Perform bacterial growth and induction assay-supporting development of fermentation procedures.
• Data analysis.
• Present activities, progress, and achievements in various forums.
• The position includes working in shifts, including performing late evening measurements.    

Hands-on experience:

• Familiar with biological laboratories. 
• Experience with protein expression.
• Familiar with ELISA techniques and WB.
• Familiar with Protein purification by FPLC systems - an advantage.

Qualifications:

•  M.Sc. or B.Sc. with 2 years of industry experience in microbiology, protein expression or biochemistry.

• Willingness to take on responsibilities and reach specified targets.
• Ability to work and think independently as well as be part of a team.
• Fast learner and well-organized with the ability to keep accurate records.
