Staff Software Engineer, Networking, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Candidates will typically have 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
• Typically 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Experience designing and architecting modern enterprise production systems for enterprise customers.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Candidates will typically have 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Typically 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.

As such, Andromeda is a core component of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), running on every physical host in the Google Cloud fleet and providing networking capabilities to all GCP customers.

As a Staff Software Engineer you will design, implement, and manage the reliable rollout of features to production. As a leader on the team you will build the team's roadmap, balancing long-term needs with current customer requirements, and the on-going improvement of the system and the code base.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities

• Impact Google Cloud's ability to deliver advanced networking features to its Enterprise customers at a growing scale.
• Lead the work on the core infrastructure of the data plane that powers Google Cloud's highly reliable, scalable, and secure SDN. Implement infrastructure changes, major refactoring, and scale improvements.
• Mentor other team members and colleagues and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
