Head of R&D

Responsibilities

• Learn quickly and independently, maintain close ties to R&D members, product managers, and management
• Oversee and guide the engineering teams day-to-day, from SDLC to engineer personal growth plans.
• Take ownership of feature execution plans and results
• Be a part of the technical roadmap definition and prioritization processes to facilitate the use of new technologies and development processes
• Collaborate with the product team to refine technical requirements and software architecture for new software and features
• Work closely with managers to shape the organization culture
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and team leaders
• Build a recruitment plan and lead the effort to expand the team
• Take ownership of the Engineering group, existing product and infrastructure, as well as additional supplementary responsibilities under the R&D day-to-day.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams
• 3+ years experience in designing, developing, and testing SaaS applications on Cloud services, knowledgeable in databases, queues, and compute services - a must
• Proven experience developing high-scale, real-time systems analyzing massive data - a must
• Proficiency in software architecture patterns and best practices, with a focus on microservices, event-driven / stateless / serverless applications - a must
• Extensive hands-on proficiency with Python - a must
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Node.js / React.js / TypeScript - a must
• Extensive knowledge and experience with AWS Cloud Services - a must
• Domain expertise in Cyber Security - a strong advantage
• Knowledge of computer network’s fundamentals and security - an advantage
• Strong technical background and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as organizational and leadership skills.
