Guardoc is an early-stage startup committed to transforming clinical documentation compliance. Our innovative platform scrutinizes clinical charts within healthcare providers' Electronic Health Records (EHR), utilizing AI to mirror the critical thinking of nursing professionals. Our goal is to fortify clinical documentation for compliance and reimbursement, enhance patient care, and provide in-depth insights from medical data, guided by nursing literature, protocols, and real-world evidence.

We are seeking a Founding Engineer to lead the creation and evolution of our Clinical Documentation Auditing solution. Our platform will empower healthcare providers by ensuring their clinical documentation aligns with compliance standards and enhances patient care. By harnessing advanced data processing techniques and automation, the platform analyzes patient clinical records, pinpointing inconsistencies, gaps, and discrepancies within and across clinical charts in relation to established protocols. As a founding team member, you will take a major part in the development of our technology, transforming complex clinical data into actionable insights.

• Collaborate with the CTO and product team to convert system requirements into software and data automation architecture.
• Design and implement a domain-specific language and tools for defining audit rule sets tailored to clinical documentation auditing.
• Develop a robust rule engine capable of executing complex audit rules efficiently.
• Design an intuitive rule creation tool, enabling auditors to easily and efficiently formulate audit rules without requiring deep technical expertise.
• Implement NLP techniques to transform unstructured medical notes into structured data for analysis by the rule engine.

• Long-Term Objectives:
• Extend the rule engine incorporating knowledge graph and statistical modeling.
• Lead the effort to harness labeled data from auditors and customers to build and train machine learning models, enhancing the platform's analytical capabilities.
• Integrate medical literature and official protocols into the platform's knowledge graph to enrich the auditing process.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and developing complex software systems, preferably in the healthcare domain.
• Expertise in NLP and its application to unstructured text, particularly in the medical or healthcare context.
• Knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and knowledge graphs.
• Experience with data-driven product enhancement and a solid understanding of integrating domain-specific knowledge into software solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers and interact effectively with non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Knowledge in rule engine architecture and development, and experience in domain-specific language creation.
• Familiarity with healthcare protocols, clinical documentation processes.
• Experience with machine learning model development, especially in a supervised learning context using labeled datasets.
• Proven track record of leading projects from inception to deployment, demonstrating the ability to adapt and evolve product features over time.
