Head of Firmware & Apps

DESCRIPTION

Nexar is building the next generation of smart dash-cams in a connected network of drivers. Our product and software solutions for the camera and the accompanying apps are designed to deliver a world-class driving experience and innovative protection. Our network of drivers is contributing anonymously to the creation of location-based, AI insights-based products.

We are looking for a seasoned, talented, and enthusiastic leader for all our camera FW, Android app, and iOS app development. The group is made of two teams, with their own leads - one focused on firmware as a platform and another on the camera's applications for the client, both in the FW and the apps.

This role is about leading the resolution of challenging and diverse technological problems. It involves overseeing the daily execution of the group’s leaders, engineers, and external consultants and the chance to shape, plan, and dominate the future of connected, safe driving worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, manage, and mentor the talented, highly specialized team leads and engineers within the group
• Plan and monitor the execution of short and long-term project goals and milestones for the group, while identifying and following up on potential issues and gaps
• Contribute to and review infrastructure and feature architectures
• Monitor the release and development cycles and environments
• Collaborate closely with the other engineering groups on end-to-end solutionsTake part in product definitions and decisions
• Face new challenges every day, and spend a very limited time in your comfort zone :)

REQUIREMENTS

Technical skills & qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in leadership positions
• Solid experience and proficiency in embedded C++ and at least one mobile platform - Android or iOS
• Deep understanding of interfaces, Multithreading, Networking and network protocols [Wifi, BLE, TCP/UDP etc.], Video/Audio management
• Background in low-level software and firmware development
• Experience with challenging project management/leadership
