Master’s Research Opportunity in Plant Sciences – Starting October 2025

For students currently residing in Israel only

We are looking for highly motivated Master’s students with a background in biology or agronomy to join a collaborative research project between our lab and the lab of Dr. Alexander Goldshmidt (Plant Sciences).

Research Focus:

Postharvest Physiology of Vegetables, Abiotic Stress, and Plant Genomics

Project Title:

Using Genomic Tools in Pepper Breeding to Improve Postharvest Fruit Quality

This research aims to develop a genetic foundation for breeding cold-tolerant pepper varieties that maintain fruit quality during extended cold storage. The goal is to extend shelf life and reduce postharvest food loss.

The project includes:

• Collaborative work with the Institute of Plant Sciences at the Volcani Center
• Use of advanced biochemical, molecular, and bioinformatics tools
• A combination of laboratory and fieldwork

Eligibility:

• B.Sc. in Biology or Agronomy
• Currently residing in Israel
• Strong interest in plant science, genetics, and postharvest physiology
