Major Gifts Officer

The Freedom Farm Sanctuary is seeking a Major Gift Officer to promote the organization’s fundraising efforts in the United States.

The Major Gifts Officer will identify, cultivate, and manage a portfolio of individual major gift donors in the US. An ability to empathize with donors and clearly communicate the organization’s mission is key. Therefore, candidates should adhere to a vegan lifestyle.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Build and manage a fundraising portfolio of US-based major gift prospects at the $5,000+ level, focusing on $25,000+ donors from individuals, foundations, and companies.
• Develop and implement prospect and donor engagement strategies, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Profile prospective donors and contact key businesspeople and decision-makers in the US Jewish community.
• Personally cultivate, solicit, and secure major gifts. Work with existing donors to identify other prospective donors.
• Successfully communicate the mission and impact of Freedom Farm Sanctuary’s work.
• Prepare written materials such as proposals, reports, direct asks, and thank-you letters.
• Orchestrate meetings between donors and donor prospects and the Israel team, setting up online and in-person meetings in the US and Israel.
• Develop creative ways to keep donors engaged with Freedom Farm's work.
• Track all activity in a donor database; maintain accurate records of all donor/prospect interactions and strategies for future engagement.
• Act as the public face of Freedom Farm Sanctuary in the US.
• Getting FFS on the itinerary of US groups visiting Israel
  
  

• Self-motivated and results-oriented.
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in nonprofit fundraising and major gift solicitation with demonstrated success.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent networker with a diplomatic and persuasive personality, and ability to convey the organizational mission.
• Ability to connect with Jewish Americans and non-Jewish donors dedicated to causes in line with the mission of Freedom Farm.
• Excellent judgment and comfortable making creative decisions.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to travel.
