Senior Data Architect (DBA) Engineer

We're seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Architecture Engineer with exceptional communication skills and a proactive approach. In this role, you will be a key member of the Data Architecture Team, operating in a "Follow the Sun" model, to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of our diverse database infrastructure, with a primary focus on AWS cloud services.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams, leveraging expertise in Python and PostgreSQL databases to shape our data architecture, and contributing to the development of CI/CD pipelines. You will also play a crucial role in establishing SLAs with extensive metrics and ensuring observability across the data architecture.

What You'll Do:

Database Management & Performance Tuning: Ensure databases on AWS meet or exceed SLAs, actively monitoring and managing performance to minimize downtime and optimize queries.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement complex data architectures on AWS, leveraging relevant services.
Data Architecture Strategy: Contribute to developing and executing a data architecture strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalability, security, and compliance in AWS environments.
ETL and Data Streaming: Oversee ETL processes and data streaming pipelines in AWS, ensuring timely and accurate data transfer.
Observability and Telemetry: Implement and manage observability practices using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, New Relic, to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data architecture performance.
Data Migration: Plan, coordinate, and execute data and configuration migration initiatives on AWS, ensuring seamless transitions with data integrity and security.
Data Governance: Support in establishing and enforcing data governance policies, including ownership, access controls, and data lifecycle management practices, especially within AWS.
What We Look For:

Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in Database Management
Strong expertise in various database types, including relational, columnar, and graph databases, with a focus on AWS solutions.
Proficiency in Change Data Capture (CDC) methodologies and implementation.
Experience with data lake architecture and management.
Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks.
In-depth understanding of ETL processes and data streaming technologies.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive approach with a strong self-service mentality.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience working with Python, Juniper Notebook, CI/CD Pipelines, AWS Lambda, and similar tools.
