We're seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Architecture Engineer with exceptional communication skills and a proactive approach. In this role, you will be a key member of the Data Architecture Team, operating in a "Follow the Sun" model, to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of our diverse database infrastructure, with a primary focus on AWS cloud services.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams, leveraging expertise in Python and PostgreSQL databases to shape our data architecture, and contributing to the development of CI/CD pipelines. You will also play a crucial role in establishing SLAs with extensive metrics and ensuring observability across the data architecture.

What You'll Do:

• Database Management Performance Tuning and SLA Management: Ensure databases meet or exceed defined SLAs on AWS cloud-based solutions, actively monitoring and managing performance to minimize downtime and optimize query performance.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement complex data architectures supporting various business needs, leveraging AWS services where applicable.
• Data Architecture Strategy: Contribute to the development and execution of a data architecture strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalability, security, and compliance within AWS cloud environments.
• ETL and Data Streaming: Contribute to overseeing ETL processes and data streaming pipelines within AWS, ensuring timely and accurate data transfer.
• Observability and Telemetry: Implement and manage extensive observability practices, leveraging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, New Relic, and other telemetry solutions to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of data architecture components.
• Data Migration: Contribute to planning, coordinating, and executing data and configuration migration initiatives, ensuring seamless transitions with data integrity and security maintained.
• Data Governance: Support in establishing and enforcing data governance policies, defining ownership, access controls, and data lifecycle management practices, particularly within AWS.
  
  

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in Database Management
• Strong expertise in various database types, including relational, columnar, and graph databases, with a focus on AWS solutions.
• Proficiency in Change Data Capture (CDC) methodologies and implementation.
• Experience with data lake architecture and management.
• Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks.
• In-depth understanding of ETL processes and data streaming technologies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive approach with a strong self-service mentality.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working with Python, Juniper Notebook, CI/CD Pipelines, AWS Lambda, and similar tools.
