Staff Engineer

As the Staff Engineer (Infrastructure, Scalability, Reliability) at Via, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall performance, availability and resilience of Via’s infrastructure. This includes implementing and maintaining monitoring systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address performance bottlenecks and continuously improving the reliability and scalability of our systems and processes to meet the evolving needs of our products and users.

You will steer the technical strategy and vision for our underpinning infrastructure, alerting & monitoring, networking, and development tooling in collaboration with other engineering teams and leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Develop, drive, execute, and lead a long term vision and strategy for Via’s Site Reliability, infrastructure, and tooling
• Write, build, deploy, and maintain code in production
• Provide seamless developer experiences in close collaboration with other engineering teams
• Collaborate with engineering groups to establish best practices and standards for incident response and management
• Continuously enhance our infrastructure and supporting procedures so that it is easy to maintain and deploys reliably
  
  

Who You Are:

• Minimum of 8+ years experience of industry experience in SRE, cloud engineering and infrastructure, and CI/CD tools
• Experience designing, deploying, building or managing distributed systems of significant scale
• Professional experience and capability with essential cloud infrastructure systems (Kubernetes, AWS, GCE).
• Track record of growing and assembling a high functioning engineering organization
• Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a geo-distributed team
• BS degree or Masters degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
