Manufacturing Technologist

Chunk is a food tech startup that develops, manufactures, and markets plant-based whole cuts that are delicious, nutritious, and kind to the environment. Our mission is to make plant-based eating accessible and enjoyable for everyone, and we believe that our products have the potential to revolutionize the meat industry, by outcompeting animal agriculture on price, scale and efficiency.

Chunk is creating plant-based whole cuts that can easily replace Beef in any recipe. Chunk is a high protein (25g /4oz portion), low salt, low-fat center-of-plate option. It is made naturally, with a handful of ingredients, without additives, thickeners, or binders which makes it the cleanest label product in the category. It is extremely versatile and easy to use - it can be Pan seared, basted, grilled, smoked, stewed, braised, BBQ, and baked, the same way beef is used. It allows chefs a much greater level of creativity with simple preparation and minimal training of the staff, which is translated to a great consumer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as a liaison between the company’s R&D, QA and production teams.
• Establish, maintain, and train the production team on operation protocols.
• Provide assistance with troubleshooting on the production floor.
• Work closely with the QA team on raw material, process and final product approval.
• Assist R&D and QA teams with data collection and analysis.
• Take part in the company's tasting panel.

REQUIREMENTS:

• B.Sc. degree in food technology, food science, food engineer, biotechnology, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience as a line technologist in a food production facility.
• Good understanding of food chemistry and microbiology.
• Have the ability to collect and analyze data.
• Willingness and desire to do hands-on work and work long hours when needed.
• Experience in production facility operations.
• Well versed in using Excel / google sheets.
• Fluent in Hebrew and English (verbal and written).
• The factory is located at Rishon west industrial zone and requires an on-site presence.

THE PERFECT CANDIDATE ALSO HAS:

• Working knowledge of machinery and tools.
• R&D experience.
• Previous positions in a global/big food company.
